Formats & Edition Availability
Vertexix curates exactly eight export formats, listed in Settings > Export and offered in every save dialog: OBJ, PLY, FBX, GLB (binary glTF), glTF, Collada (DAE), STL (binary only — ASCII STL isn't offered) and 3MF. STL and 3MF are the formats 3D printing software reads, so every edition has them. A 3MF is written in millimetres (it says so inside the file), each mesh an object of its own with its name and colour; an STL has no unit, and is written in the model's own numbers.
On top of those, Regular and Ultra write USD in its three forms — .usdz (one file, the textures packed inside it), .usdc (binary) and .usda (text), the last two with their textures as PNG files beside the model. They share one row in Settings > Export, USD (usdz, usdc, usda), whose default picks .usdz. See USD and Alembic Files for what a USD file carries.
Availability by edition
| Edition | Formats |
|---|---|
| Free | OBJ, PLY, STL, 3MF |
| Light | OBJ, PLY, STL, 3MF, FBX, GLB |
| Regular | All 8, plus USD (.usdz, .usdc, .usda) |
| Ultra | All 8, plus USD (.usdz, .usdc, .usda) |
This list is decided in exactly one place internally, so every save dialog's filter and the Settings > Export tab's rows always agree. The Export tab still shows the formats your edition lacks, each disabled with a badge naming the cheapest edition that unlocks it — so you can see what you'd gain, not just what you have.
