Generate UV Map is greyed out
UV maps are made for the Generated Mesh, so the Generated Mesh has to be the one on screen. Create topology (or Pass Through a material) first, then switch the view to the Generated Mesh — by default with the backtick key. See Loaded Mesh vs. Generated Mesh.
A control is greyed out with an edition name beside it
That control belongs to a higher edition. Editions Compared lists everything that differs between Free, Light, Vertexix and Ultra.
My glTF export has triangles instead of quads
glTF, GLB and STL store triangles only, so every quad is split on export. Formats such as OBJ keep quads. See Quads vs. Triangles for which do.
The model came in, or went out, at the wrong size
Vertexix works in metres. Give a model its real size with Set Mesh Size, and see FBX Units & Scale for how each export format writes units.
Panels are missing or in odd places
Every window can be reopened from the Window menu. To put all of them back where they started, reset the layout — see Resetting the window layout.
Painting is slow or looks wrong
Try turning off GPU painting in Settings. See GPU & Memory.
An operation refuses to run and mentions memory
Heavy operations check memory before they start. Choose a lower detail level or resolution, or raise the budget in Memory Settings if your machine has room. See Running out of memory.
Where are my logs and crash dumps?
In the logs and crashes folders next to the program.
View › Open Log Folder opens the first. See
Logs & Crash Reports.
